Princess Beatrice has been accused of being a social climber in the past and now the 24-year -old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson has revealed her actual climbing ambitions.
Beatrice has revealed she is joining Sam and Holly Branson and Sam’s fiancée, actress Isabella Calthorp, in a charity expedition up Mont Blanc in the Graian Alps.
Beatrice’s mother will be supporting her on the journey, which is in aid of the charity Big Challenge, although she won’t be ascending the mountain with her daughter. “Mum’s incredibly excited and is coming along, I think. She won’t be climbing, but she’ll be there to support,” Beatrice told Hello magazine.
Prince Andrew will not join her on the trip either as he has his own expedition planned. “My dad and my sister have been great too. Dad will be abseiling down The Shard while I’m on the climb, so we’re having to support each other in advance,” she adds. “As a family, we’re getting very challenge focused.”
Beatrice lost a significant amount of weight when she competed in the 2010 London Marathon last year for her mother’s charity Children in Crisis.
